Mümkün undertook the coordination and editorial work for the book of the special project realized by Garanti BBVA on the occasion of the centennial anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
As part of the project, Garanti BBVA Photography Club members and volunteers visited and photographed historical sites that witnessed the National Struggle and the establishment of the Republic of Turkey 100 years later.
Inspired by Mustafa Kemal Pasha’s departure on the Bandırma Ferry, a sailboat set off from Istanbul under the leadership of Garanti BBVA Sailing Club members and started its journey in Samsun, where the first spark of the National Struggle was ignited, and continued by following Atatürk’s steps in 22 cities from Izmir to Izmir, Kütahya to Sivas, Istanbul to Konya.
This special publication brings together archival photographs from a hundred years ago and photographs taken in the same locations today, supported by the memories of the people of the region.
