{"id":5843,"date":"2024-05-26T17:55:48","date_gmt":"2024-05-26T14:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mumkun.works\/portfolio\/teacher-training-workshops\/"},"modified":"2024-05-26T19:05:07","modified_gmt":"2024-05-26T16:05:07","slug":"teacher-training-workshops","status":"publish","type":"portfolio","link":"https:\/\/mumkun.works\/en\/portfolio\/teacher-training-workshops\/","title":{"rendered":"Teacher Training Workshops"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p>M\u00fcmk\u00fcn designed and conducted two teacher workshops organized by Salt and Teacher Academy Foundation (\u00d6RAV), in collaboration with researcher and academic Evren Bar\u0131n Egrik.<\/p>\n<p>The workshops were led by writer, editor and programmer \u0130lkay Bali\u00e7 and academic Evren Bar\u0131n Egrik as part of Salt&#8217;s Interpretation Program, and with the contributions of the Salt team, and aimed to explore the possibilities offered by cultural institutions for the educational environment through Salt&#8217;s programs.<\/p>\n<p>Following the workshops, which aimed to protect teachers&#8217; right to access quality education by supporting their professional and personal development, an educators&#8217; guide was published with the title &#8220;Interpreting Art in and out of School: A Guide for Educators&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshop: Planning a Cultural Event<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Tuesday, January 23, 13.30-15.30<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Salt Galata<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>How can we design extracurricular learning environments? What are the opportunities for reflection and learning offered by different cultural institutions? What challenges do teachers face when planning out-of-school cultural activities? What methods can be used to keep students&#8217; curiosity alive when visiting a new institution or exhibition?<\/p>\n<p>In this workshop, the Ottoman Bank Museum Collection at Salt Galata was interpreted with teachers. Through Salt&#8217;s programs, the exhibition and non-exhibition functions of cultural institutions and the spaces of dialogue they open were discussed around the concepts of architecture, design, research and archive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Workshop: Interpreting Art Together<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Wednesday, January 24, 10.00-12.00<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Salt Beyo\u011flu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The workshop started with a theoretical introduction on the possibilities of interpreting contemporary art and continued with a tour of the Handan B\u00f6r\u00fcte\u00e7ene&#8217;s solo exhibition at Salt Beyo\u011flu. Together with students of different ages, the difficulties of interpreting art were discussed.
